Information about the monument: Sinan built the Darülkurra (Koran reading school) building for Sokullu Mehmet Pasha, in the name of his wife Ismihan Sultan, who was the daughter of Sultan Selim II. It was used as a children's library for many years. It has been turned over to the Eyüp Sultan Education, Culture and Service Foundation, recently, and the old, original manucripts here were taken to the Süleymaniye Library in 1957. The building was restored in 1961-1962; it is in a good condition. It is open to visitors during work hours, including Saturdays.
