After the dome was demolished in 1752, a wooden structure was built in its place and the mosque remained in public use for a long time. During restoration work in 1953 and in 1962, a dome similar to the original was rebuilt, to replace the wooden structure. The original mihrab niche, its multicolored stencil ornamentation, and its wooden minbar have been lost over the years. It is open to public during prayer times only.
