İzlenim: I stayed here in the mid 1970s when it was a youth hostel. It was a beautiful old structure. There was a center courtyard surrounded by arcades all around. There was a large main room (apparently a lecture hall of sorts) on one corner that was usually locked but had beautiful and large carved wooden doors with geometric designs. This was opposite the main entrance and to the right. On another corner were the restrooms, with Turkish-style toilets made of beautiful marble. These were on the left of the entrance, and opposite the large room / lecture hall. On one side of the courtyard (the side to the right of the entrance) was a little restaurant for the travelers staying here. There were a series of dormitory rooms with bunk beds. As I recall these were set up as suites, with a small common room entered from the courtyard, and two or more sleeping rooms off of this common room. Most of the dormitory rooms that were being used were on the side opposite the restaurant. There was a lovely fountain in the center of the courtyard, and occasionally women from the neighborhood would come to get water from the fountain. As I recall, the building itself was square, but the courtyard was octagonal, because of the large rooms at the four corners (such as the lecture hall).
